At AGM: Ngwarre Women Donate Scholarships To Bamendankwe Meritorious Students

Some 35 students who excelled well in the 2022 public examinations have received cash prize awards from the Bamendankwe women elite group, Ngwarre
This was on December 17, 2022 at the Bamendankwe Fon's Palace, during the Annual General Meeting, AGM of Ngwarre, that brought together members of the group from the national and international level.
The come together which was graced by the Fon of Bamendankwe, Fon Forchesiri III and the Mayor of Bamenda I council, Mbigha Felix was termed as a special one, as Mbigha Felix, a native of the land supported the group with the sum of 100.000frs
Amongst the students who benefited from the scholarship included best students at the Advanced level, Ordinary level, Technical and at the First School level. The award prizes which ranged from 50.000frs to 25.000frs were handed over to the beneficiaries and their guardians.
According to Anne Munjong, international president of Ngwarre, the scholarships is to congratulate the students on their brilliant performances and to support them get their school needs as they continue this new academic year.
"We always end the AGM by giving scholarships to students for excelling well in the exams inorder to support them," Anne Munjong said
The international president of Ngwarre added that last year they gave the scholarship to 25 students, but they have decided to step up this year to 35. She said this by thanking their supporters and the women of Ngwarre who went extra mile to see that they meet up with the project.
"We wanted to give something reasonable. So after this we are going to follow-up on the students to make sure that they are doing well in their schools," Anne Munjong added
While acknowledging that the total amount of scholarship was 1.1 million frs this year, the president noted that they are going to increase the package during their next AGM in 2024, as the women agreed to plan big in 2023 and instead meet the following year.
On their side, the beneficiaries thanked the women of Ngwarre, as Bingwa Courage, speaking on behalf of her colleagues said they are going to use the money jealously in the buying of textbooks and other school needs
"Is going to help me in preparing me for my studies like school fees and textbooks. I want to thank the women of Bamendankwe for this wonderful opportunity," Bingwa Courage, one of the beneficiary said
During the come together, the Ngwarre women examined their successes and planed for the new year. It was revealed that more members have joined the group from the home branch this 2022.
The president of the Bafoussam branch pleaded with the group to treat them with caution, so that they can convince more members to join, since their branch is newly created.
Created in the 1980's in Douala, the Ngwarre women group of Bamendankwe has 9 branches world wide, with a total number of more than 100 members.
Their mission is to bring the women of Bamendankwe together wherever they are to fight for peace and also to assist and give back to their community in the domain of health, education and others.
