Miss North West 2023 Gives Hope, Empowers School Children, IDPs

Some school children and internally displaced kids have received school didactic materials and educational talks as support to boost their learning in school during the 2022/2023 academic year from Miss North West 2023.


The materials including books, pens, pencils and others were handed over to the beneficiaries during the campaign activities of Miss North West 2023 organized by her team 

During the visit in schools like Saint Frederick and the International School of Educational Excellence, Miss North West, Nya-nyo Wendoh Grace also drilled the pupils and students on possible self employment opportunities and the importance of education to the youths.

Nya-nyo Grace who is a contestant for Miss Cameroon 2023 outlined in her advocacy message that her aim is to give hope to the youths and local communities through education "Ensuring employment with education among Cameroonian youth" her advocacy message states

"My aim is to encourage the students to take education serious and advice them not to drop out of school," Nya-nyo Grace said

The contestant for Miss Cameroon 2023 who is a student nurse said one of her aim is also to teach the youths in the region some basic skills like how to bake, produce donuts and others, which are some of the things she does 

Before visiting the schools and orphanages in Bamenda, Nya-nyo Grace and her team first visited the office of the North West Governor, North West regional delegation of Arts and Cultural and the Fon of Noni, where she pleaded on the authorities to support her project

"I'm calling on the state holders to support me financially, material and the skills so that I can fully realize this project which is beneficial to the youths," she said in an interview 

While also calling on the youths and the entire population of the region to support her when it shall be time for the votes, the potential Miss Cameroon promised to realize the project, which according to her, will be beneficial to the youths as soon as she succeeds the crown.

JATO Sonita Spices Press Freedom Day In Bamenda

Mount Cameroon Race: Lady Dies From Explosion Wounds

At least one victim of the Buea explosions, which occurred during the 2023 edition of the Mount Cameroon race of hope is dead. Family sources in Buea have confirmed that Linda Nji died at the Buea regional hospital early Tuesday February 28, 2023. The victim was injured together with her three children in one amongst the three explosions that occurred few minutes into the race on Saturday. "They stood outside watching the race at Bunduma where an explosive went off and injured all of them," a source said. They were later on rushed to the Buea regional hospital, where they have been receiving treatment until Tuesday morning at about 4am when the later died. Report say she died in the presence of her husband and her remains were conveyed to the hospital mortuary, pending burial. On Saturday February 25, 2023, three explosives were detonated during the Mount Cameroon race which brought together about 600 athletes.
