Bamenda University Student Poisons Self To Death After Quarrelling With Mom

A first year student of the university of Bamenda, UBa who poisoned herself to death by consuming a dangerous substance has been finally laid to rest.

Mbunuoh Tecla Tabah, 20, a level 200 student in the faculty of Law and Political Science was buried Saturday July 9, 2022 in their family compound in Bambui, Tubah subdivision.

The first year student who died on Saturday July 2, breaking Sunday consumed a local substance meant for rats, her family members told Promo Info

According to a story narrated by her mom, who refused to be quoted on the notion that a lot of fake news has circulated on the demise of her daughter and she does not stand to debunk it, she revealed how the unfortunate incident unfolded

"That Saturday evening, i came back from the market and didn't see Tecla. I asked her sisters and they said she stepped out. Very soon she came back and greeted me and I asked her why didn't you go to school. She responded that they didn't have class and I immediately asked and why didn't you go to the farm. She snobbed at me and left," her mother narrated

She added that things only got worse when she asked her some few questions further and the deceased daughter instead put music on her phone and was listing.

"I asked her to put off the music and go to bed if she is not helping. That was the end between i and my daughter," she added

According to the deceased's mother, they did not have a big problem before going to bed as many people think.

"At about 2am in the night I heard her asking her brothers to give her red oil from their room. I immediately ran to their room and saw her already fuming. We struggled together with her aunt and rushed her to the hospital but it was already late," the mother lamented

The mother also revealed that it is not up to a week when she sent her to use the deathly substance to trap rats in the house. "She went back to use it and killed herself"

Mbunuoh Tecla died just about a week to the day she was to start her second semester exams in the faculty of Law and Political Science

Due to the rumors that earlier circulated about her death, with many saying she died in the process of trying to terminate a pregnancy and others allegedly saying the family wanted to give her to marry the Fon, the family earlier announced that they a waging a war on any student or friend of hers who attempts to attend her burial.

Mount Cameroon Race: Lady Dies From Explosion Wounds

At least one victim of the Buea explosions, which occurred during the 2023 edition of the Mount Cameroon race of hope is dead. Family sources in Buea have confirmed that Linda Nji died at the Buea regional hospital early Tuesday February 28, 2023. The victim was injured together with her three children in one amongst the three explosions that occurred few minutes into the race on Saturday. "They stood outside watching the race at Bunduma where an explosive went off and injured all of them," a source said. They were later on rushed to the Buea regional hospital, where they have been receiving treatment until Tuesday morning at about 4am when the later died.
