More than three thousand students have been conferred end of course certificates at the university of Bamenda, UBa.
This was during the 11th convocation ceremony at the university campus on December 16, 2021 in Bambili.
While congratulating the students on behalf of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, the Vice Chancellor, Professsor Theresia Nkuo Akenji urged the students to be good ambassadors of peace and keep the university flag high anywhere they go.
"We expect you to be the flag bearer of the university of Bamenda wherever you find yourself. Dear graduands, never compromise any of the values which you have acquired over the years in UBa. As graduates of UBa, you have a lot to contribute toward Cameroon's emergence by 2035," Prof Theresa Nkuo said.
The over 3000 graduates from Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law and Political Science, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Science, College of Technology, Higher Institute of Commerce and Management, Higher Institute of Transport and Logistics and National Higher Polytechnic Institute are stepping out to face thousands of other job seekers and job creators in Cameroon.

The Vice Chancellor added that the graduates are going out more as job creators and not job seekers.
"You have been trained not only as job seekers, but as job creators armed with entrepreneurial skills to impact the society diversely and above all positively," Prof Theresia Nkuo added.
More emphasis was laid on the National Higher Polytechnic Institute, NAHPI, which is also called the school of engineering, as it was sending off her pioneer batch of engineers.
On his part, Bonuh Che Clement, president of the Bamenda university alumni association, who doubled as guest of honor at the convocation ceremony urged the graduates to inculcate the initiative of giving back to their alma mater. He said this by quoting from the words of former American president, John Kennedy.
"Let us asked ourselves what we can do for our state and the Cameroonian society and not what the state can do for us," Bonuh Che said.
