Elites and traditional authorities of Ngoketunjia division in the North West region have pleaded with Ambazonian "General" No Pity to release Fon Yakum Kevin II of Bambalang.

The elites made the plea recently during the 'All Ngoketunjia Peace Conference' organized by the Ngoketunjia Youth and Students Cultural Association, NGOYSCA in Yaounde.

According to the elites, there is no reason for keeping the traditional ruler who is a father to many in captivity.

"I use this opportunity to plead with "General" No Pity to release his father, the Fon of Bambalang. No Pity you are hearing me where you are, release your father the Fon of Bambalang. What ever reasons he might have had for taking his father to the bush, i have appealed to his conscience, that there's no offense, there's no sin or crime that is not pardonable," Senator Fon Chafah Isaac echoed in his addressing speech

Other elites who joined the Senator in making the strengthen plea were Honorable Njingum Musa, Nganjoh Mama, president of NGODECA and others who made it clear that peace is the only option.

In a resolution endorsed by the elites and youths immediately after the conference, point six of the resolution states that " We call for the release of our father and brother,  HRM Fon Kevin Shomitang II of Bambalang, by those holding him captive for almost nine months..,"

Senator Fon Chafah did not only beg for the release of the Fon of Bambalang, but he also pleaded with the Ambazonian fighter to lay down his weapons for the sake of his brothers and sisters who have been suffering for years as a result of the prolonged Anglophone crisis.

"I use this occasion to plead to General No Pity to pity his brothers and sisters who are suffering and lay down his arms and join us, nothing will happen to him if he comes voluntarily," Fon Chafah added

The occasion which was to give back to school materials to over four hundred pupils and students from Ngoketunjia division also witnessed some indigents blame elites of the division for not bringing up their children well.

According to Sama Sylvanus, some elites have however failed in several cases in communicating to the children.

"Some elites of Ngoketunjia and even other divisions have failed in their responsibility of communicating with their people because those people who are committing the acts are not far, they are children of the community. And if there's a community that the youths are not listening to the elites it means the elites are failing in communication," Sama Sylvanus said

Kidnapped on December 7, 2021, Fon Yakum Kevin II of Bambalang village in Ndop, Ngoketunjia division in the North West region has spent nine months in the hands of Ambazonian fighters.
