Ngoketunjia Peace Conference: NGOYSCA Put Smiles On Faces Of Pupils, Students

It is promising to be a fruitful academic year, as about four hundred pupils and students from Ngoketunjia division in the North West region have received scholarship awards to continue their education this new academic year.
This was the most appreciated move at the "All Ngoketunjia Youth Scholarship and Peace Conference" held on September 3, 2022 in Yaounde.
The beneficiaries carefully selected from the primary, secondary and university levels from all the 13 villages of Ngoketunjia received cash prizes and school materials from the Ngoketunjia Youth and Students Cultural Association, NGOYSCA.
Amongst those invited at the NGOYSCA first ever Youth Scholarship and Peace Conference were, Honorable Njingum Musa, Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Richard Bale and Senator Fon Chafah Isaac of Bangolan.

According to the Chairman of the organizing committee, Dr. Pefela Gildas, the come together was aimed at uniting all sons and daughters of Ngoketunjia to discuss suitable solutions for peace and a smooth back to school.
On his part, the President General of NGOYSCA, Bonuh Che Clement said the scholarships were not only given to meritorious students, but also to internally displaced and vulnerable students from Ngoketunjia division.
"The right to education is a powerful right. Vulnerable students are equally part of the scholarship.It was also to promote those that excelled well in the ordinary and Advanced level. We can always develop strategies in which we can bring back peace in our division," Bonuh said
Other school materials donated to the students by elites of the division included exercise books, pens, school bags and others.
While appreciating the initiative, the Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Richard Bale promised to support the people of Ngoketunjia in any any peaceful activity that they are carrying.
Traditional authorities on their part tasked the people of Ngoketunjia to collaborate for the release of Fon Yakum Kevin of Bambalang, who has spent about 9 months in the hands of separatist fighters.
The colourful event also witnessed traditional dances from some groups and the selection of Miss Ngoketunjia.
Since 2019, the Ngoketunjia Youth and Students Cultural Association has been organizing peace football tournaments to unite the people of Ngoketunjia in and out of the division.
