End Of Holiday Tourney: Bamenda III Mayor Calls On Population To Embrace Peace

The Mayor of Bamenda III council has called on the population of his municipality to respect their culture and embrace peace for the return of normalcy in the area.
Mayor Fongu Cletus was speaking recently during the finals of the "Bamenda III Inclusive-Royal tournament" in Mile 4 Nkwen in the presence of the Divisional Officer of Bamenda III, Austin Ayuni and the Fon of Nkwen.
"Despite the security challenges, we want to thank the population for collaborating with us throughout the tournament. We think that through sporting activities we can preach peace, unite the entire municipality, despite the security challenges. It was an inclusive tournament because we think that everybody is involved in the process of development," Mayor Fongu said

The Mayor also called on parents to send their children to school , as the 2022/2023 school year is on the way. He added that education is very important as he wished good luck to the students and pupils who are returning to school.
"I want to encourage all the youths to go back to school, and to all the parents and educational stakeholders to help the children in school," he added
On his part, the newly installed Divisional Officer for Bamenda III, Austin Ayuni called on the population to collaborate with security officials as the fight for peace continues.
The newly installed Divisional Officer added that he will be happy to meet the population in several of such occasions.
The Fon of Nkwen while congratulating the participating teams, promised them that the football pitch will be rehabilitated before next year’s competition which is going to be more successful than the just ended one.
Mayor Fongu told the teams who didn’t receive any prize to start getting ready for next year. He promised that his council will add the prize to 2.5 million FRS CFA
The mayor ended by encouraging the youths to massively take part in the upcoming Nkwen cultural festival in December, which is aimed at showcasing and to pass the culture to the younger generation.
The ceremony which was also supported by Asanji Plaza ended with the award of medals, as Legacy SC lifted the trophy after defeating Muforzah Fc 1-0
