U-17 Youth Tony: Options Sports Bamenda Recieve Heroic Welcome

Options Sports football club of Bamenda have been welcomed in a special way in the town of Bamenda, after they won the 2022 National U-17 Youth Tournament in Yaounde

The team was recieved together with the management on August 10, 2022 at the North West Governor's office, after they defeated Terre De Foot Douala 3-0 at the finals.

Received on behalf of the North West Governor, secretary general at the Governor's office, Bassileken George Malgloire congratulated them for bringing back another trophy in the region

"On behalf of the North West Governor, i want to congratulate the team for the victory. I want to acknowledge the fact that this victory is coming to show that we merit the stadium that is coming to Bamenda," Bassileken George said

Options Sports who did not only emerged champions, but also brought back the best player and the highest goal scorer trophies were highly congratulated by the North West president of FECAFOOT, Mbigha Felix

"I'm so excited to receive another trophy in the region. This to proof that we have best players in our region and to justify the field that has been allocated to us," Mbigha Felix said

The North West FECAFOOT president also highlighted that with the numerous trophies, it is a sign that the region is blessed when it comes to football, as he added that football is proving to be a unifying factor in the region.

On his part, Coach Adamu Musa who guarded the team throughout the tournament revealed that hard work and unity were the two factors that pushed them to achieve their dream.

Amongst the players who received special trophies were Tabot Etaka, who scored six goals in the competition and emerged highest goalscorer, while Yaya Yasan emerged best player of the tournament

Created just two years ago, Options Sports Bamenda participated in their first regional league competition this year, where they ended as quarterfinalists.

Mount Cameroon Race: Lady Dies From Explosion Wounds

At least one victim of the Buea explosions, which occurred during the 2023 edition of the Mount Cameroon race of hope is dead. Family sources in Buea have confirmed that Linda Nji died at the Buea regional hospital early Tuesday February 28, 2023. The victim was injured together with her three children in one amongst the three explosions that occurred few minutes into the race on Saturday. "They stood outside watching the race at Bunduma where an explosive went off and injured all of them," a source said. They were later on rushed to the Buea regional hospital, where they have been receiving treatment until Tuesday morning at about 4am when the later died. Report say she died in the presence of her husband and her remains were conveyed to the hospital mortuary, pending burial.
