The Cameroon Association of Sports Journalists, CASJ have condemned the violence perpetrated on one of its member by a police officer in Buea, South West region. According to a press release signed by the football association president, Bertille Missi Bikoun, dated 18 May 2022, one of its member, Eyong Bisong Macdela was reportedly beaten and dragged on the ground by a police officer on May 18 at the Buea Molyko Omnisport stadium. It further adds that the said journalist who has been reporting sports activities in the country for over three years was at the field to cover the MTN elite one game between Bamboutos and New Stars. Though circumstances leading to the act is not unveiled, CASJ has condemned the act and called on the Cameroon sports authority to call the perpetrator to order.
