Mbouda: Mechanic Wins Motorbike From MTN Raffle Draw

MTN Cameroon, one of the best official partner and sponsors of the Cameroon Elite football championship has made surprising return to the competition.

On Wednesday March 16, 2022, Djoufack Michael Tako emerged winner of MTN tombola in Mbouda, West region during the official launching and kickoff of the 2021/2022 elite championship in Cameroon.

The Mechanic won a Tropical Turbo motorbike from MTN Cameroon through a match ticket that he bought as pass into the MTN Arena stadium where PWD Bamenda was defeat 1-0 by Bamboutos FC Mbouda.

During halftime of the match, Indomitable Lions Coach, Rigobert Song was called to do the raffling, where Djoufack was the lucky one whose name was picked from the hundreds.

The Mechanic smiled upon receiving keys of his new motorbike from president of the Cameroon professional league, General Pierre Semengue.

Djoufack Michael also recieved all documents of his motorbike worth over five hundred thousand Francs.

MTN Cameroon, the official sponsors also promised to pay the 2021 Cameroon Cup Final Man Of The Match, Chem Hubert of PWD Bamenda the sum of two million FCFA through mobile money transfer into his account.

The 2021/2022 Elite championship is promising to be a good one as MTN Cameroon regains her place, after a fall out was reported between them and the Cameroon Football Federation.

Mount Cameroon Race: Lady Dies From Explosion Wounds

At least one victim of the Buea explosions, which occurred during the 2023 edition of the Mount Cameroon race of hope is dead. Family sources in Buea have confirmed that Linda Nji died at the Buea regional hospital early Tuesday February 28, 2023. The victim was injured together with her three children in one amongst the three explosions that occurred few minutes into the race on Saturday. "They stood outside watching the race at Bunduma where an explosive went off and injured all of them," a source said. They were later on rushed to the Buea regional hospital, where they have been receiving treatment until Tuesday morning at about 4am when the later died. Report say she died in the presence of her husband and her remains were conveyed to the hospital mortuary, pending burial.
