In a press release signed by the minister of sports on Monday February 28, he appoints former indomitable Lion's team captain, Rigobert Song as coach of the national football team.

According to the press release, Portuguese tactician and former Indomitable Lions coach, Antonio Conceiçao has been stripped off his duties.

This comes about two weeks after, minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi opted to renew Conceiçao's contract, but FECAFOOT president, Samuel Eto'o opposed the decision by reminding him of what the constitution says.

Samuel Eto'o earlier quoted that the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT is the lone body to decide who to lead the national football team.

Henceforth, 45 year old former Indomitable Lions captain, Rigobert Song who coached the U23 Lions at the 2018 Africa Championship will coach the national team for the first time.
