Has Sports Minister Humble To Eto'o's Decision?

Samuel Eto'o, FECAFOOT president and Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, minister of sports. Cameroon's minister of sports, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has appointed a Cameroonian as head coach of the national football team. In a press release signed by the minister of sports on Monday February 28, he appoints former indomitable Lion's team captain, Rigobert Song as coach of the national football team. According to the press release, Portuguese tactician and former Indomitable Lions coach, Antonio Conceiçao has been stripped off his duties. This comes about two weeks after, minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi opted to renew Conceiçao's contract, but FECAFOOT president, Samuel Eto'o opposed the decision by reminding him of what the constitution says. Revived Hope For Bamenda Municipal Stadium

Fresh hope has returned to the minds of the people of the North West region, after the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT Head of Missions visited the region. On February 13, FECAFOOT president, Samuel Eto'o sent his Head of Missions, Emmanuel Maboang Kessack to Bamenda to look into the stadium issue and access the Municipal stadium to see the situation. After spending about 30 minutes at the Bamenda Municipal stadium, Maboang Kessack assured the population that a befitting stadium will be constructed in no time. Samuel Eto'o Nominates Rigobert Song As Indomitable Lion's Coach

  The Cameroon Football Federation president, Samuel Eto'o may nominate former Indomitable Lions captain, Rigobert Song as head coach of the national team. Jeune Afrique made the announcement Friday January 18, 2022. The former central defender may replace Portuguese international, Antonio Conceiçao, who has been coaching the Lions since  2019. Conceiçao's contract was renewed last September, but his poor performance with the national team, especially at the third position was highly criticized by Cameroonians. If things work well, 45 year old Rigobert Song who coached the U23 Lions of Cameroon and led them to the 2018 Africa Championship will lead the national team in the days ahead. This comes after Cameroons minister of sports, Narcisse Moulle Kombi said Conceiçao will continue, but FECAFOOT contradicted with him with a 72 hours time to decide the Portuguese tacticians fate in Cameroon.

Bamenda Pre-season Tournament: Testing Ground For Talents

 By Mboh Promise Match officials and some players on day one. The first of its kind, the Bamenda Pre-season Solidarity Tournament has been launched. The football tournament which includes two elite one clubs, two elite two clubs, three regional league clubs and one third division team was launched Friday February 4 at Saint Paul field in Bamenda. Organized by FECAFOOT North West with other sponsors like the Management of Option Sports, the tournament is to test and prepare football clubs in the region as the new football season is scheduled to start on February 21, 2022. According to the organizing committee, the outnumbered football clubs in the region is one of the reasons why they had to launched the competition in order to get the players ready for the new season. AFCON2021: End Of Road For The Lions

Indomitable Lions. The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have been eliminated from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. The host were eliminated in a post penalty shootout against the Pharaohs of Egypt, which ended 1-3 in favor of Egypt. The Lions dominated throughout the over 130 minutes of play, but failed to score even a single goal to guarantee a place in the final. According to team captain, Vincent Aboubakar, selfishness is what caused their defeat.  Many Cameroonians and diehard fans felt disappointed after their team lost to Egypt in the semi finals at the Olembe stadium. As wild and uncontrollable messages are infiltrating into social media platforms, the situation was not different in Bamenda. Some fans in Bamenda leaving a drinking spot in frustration, after the defeat. Some fans even Bamenda took to the streets, blaming some players for not scoring penalties.
